America was literally dying on the floor quietly with his laughter being held in. It was one of those really quiet laughs, but you could tell America was dying. Ireland was going out with francy pants?! America couldn't contain his composure he thought he was going to die, literally.

America stood back up from his clothes covered carpet and wiped a tear from his eyes. That was probably the best joke he had ever heard.

"That was a good one little Ireland".

America was a little bit confused on why she would say she was serious about something like that. He shrugged and turned his attention back to the injured England.

"Did you sleep well?".

England gently held his stomach, now finally able to breath after all of his laughing.

"I slept.. fairly well." he replied.

Which, was a complete lie.. He'd been tossing and turning all night.

She was depressed and confused. Why would she lie about something like that? Love was no laughing matter to her. She just sat in her guest room and cried.

America sighed and could always tell when Egnland was lying or felt uncomfortable.

"You don't have to lie to me. Tonight i'll take better care of you and make sure you are more comfortable! That's a promise! And America always keeps their promises!!! Well... on some things, but that's not the point".

America smiled his goofy smile and turned on the t.v. to watch some dumb morning cartoons.

England's cheeks reddened, as he looked away.

It was infuriating, how America always seemed to know he was lying.. And that strange, goofy grin..

He shook his head vigorously.

"By the way we missed that Allied powers meeting thing this morning, but oh well, i think you getting better is more important than listening to me and France argue".

America's smile wasn't goofy this time, but kind of sweet looking.

England couldn't help but smile back, and nod.

"Yeah.. France's winey voice does tend to get quite annoying sometimes.." he said, chuckling.

America ate a piece of toast while sitting on the edge of the bed flicking through boring t.v. channels.

"Why does there have to be so many news channels? It's stupid..." he mumbled to himself.

England watched as America flipped through channel, after channel of news broadcasts on the other countries, when something popped up on his older brother, Scotland.

"Wait wait!" he shouted, grabbing the remote from America, and switching back to the channel, glaring at the smug look on his older brother's face, as he listened to the boring voice of the reporter drone on and on, about how Scotland had taken over most of England.

England's face became that of despair.

America looked at England's face and immediately wanted to bomb Scotland with fighter planes. He scarfed his toast and stood up from his bed standing slightly in a hero pose.

"Don't worry, with America on your side Scotland wont ever pick on you again. I will make sure he gets a piece of my mind!".

England laughed a bit at how ridiculous America looked in his pose, but smiled, happy that at-least someone cared for his safety and well- being.

"Thanks.. Alfred." he murmured.

Alfred looked down at Iggy and still saw that he was unhappy just by maybe 1%. America couldn't have this, Iggy was not going to be sad in his house. Depression, unhappiness, or sadness was not in America's vocabulary.

"How are you feeling today? If you feel better we can do something besides worry about your brother. I will kick his big scottish ass later".

"I feel much better..." he replied, stretching his arms high above his head.

America put his hand on England's head and ruffled his hair slightly.

"That's good... I would want my poor little England to be in pain for too long".

England grumbled something in embarrasment, his cheeks now a flaming red. America, like always, seemed to leave him feeling flustered.

America stood up and stretched his arms high up to the ceiling. He still had his boxers and regular white shirt on.

"Well i'll go get dressed and start making lunch then we can figure out a battle plan on how to destroy Scotland until its land is nothing but a pile of wasteland!".

America ruffled England's hair a bit then seemed to prance out of the room to go get dressed and to make a lazy American lunch that most likely consisted of either burgers or something fattening.

England watched as America pranced about, looking for clothes to change into, and rolled his eyes. Typical America.

"Hey.. Isn't there a United Nation's meeting planned for this afternoon?" he asked, seeming to specifically remember the date marked on his calendar at home.

America had poked his head out from his closet with weirdly enough, a mouthful of fries. He was going to try and talk with his mouth full, but Iggy would most likely yell at him for being an unmannered American.

"I don't have any idea, and i could care less". America threw on a possibly dirty white t-shirt some pants and his usual brown jacket.
